Atlantic Records is proud to announce the addition of legendary R&B superstar Toni Braxton to its storied roster. The multiple Grammy Award-winning singer will unveil her hugely anticipated label debut on February 2nd, 2010.

Toni Braxton has revealed that her two sons don’t like her singing voice. The Unbreak My Heart hitmaker who will release a new album next year, says that her boys, aged 6 and 7, don’t appreciate their mum’s distinctive singing voice. “They think my voice is too heavy,” Braxton told FillingTheVoid. “My youngest son once said to me, ‘Mummy, you sound like dad.’ They like high voices. Thankfully, they love me, but they don’t like my voice!”

Com "Pulse", Toni Braxton volta ao ritmo que pensava ter perdido

Londres, 27 out (EFE).- Toni Braxton, uma das grandes vozes da música negra americana, volta à ativa com "Pulse", um disco que começará a ser vendido em fevereiro e com o qual a diva diz ter "recuperado o ritmo", após quatro anos cheios de problemas pessoais e de saúde.

"Quero demonstrar que estou mais viva que nunca", afirmou em Londres em entrevista concedida à Agência Efe, na qual não escondeu que seu retorno ao mundo da música gerou, em um primeiro momento, "muito nervoso, muita tensão e uma grande dose de responsabilidade", que se dissiparam na medida em que foi recuperando a confiança em si mesma.
Não foi fácil para Toni voltar a acreditar em suas possibilidades após quatro anos marcados por diferentes problemas de saúde. A cantora sofre de uma doença nos vasos sanguíneos conhecida como angina microvascular e, além disso, foi diagnosticada com uma pericardite.
Como se já não fosse suficiente, a cantora descobriu ainda que seu filho mais velho tem autismo, o que a levou a considerar abandonar sua carreira musical para sempre.
No entanto, a intérprete, que conquistou fama mundial nos anos 90 com canções como "Unbreak my Heart" e "Breath Again", explica que foi um encontro ao acaso no hospital que trouxe esperanças a ela novamente.
"Enquanto estava internada, conheci uma mulher de 60 anos que tinha sofrido quatro infartos e que me contou que acabava de voltar de férias com seu namorado de 40 anos. Me disse que esta doença não podia me deter, que não podia ganhar a batalha, que eu ainda era muito jovem", lembra a cantora.
A partir daí, Toni começou a trabalhar na criação das 12 faixas de "Pulse", um disco com o qual a cantora volta ao R&B de suas origens e cujo primeiro single, "Yesterday", já foi lançado.
Totalmente renovada e com mais forças que nunca, Toni apenas entristece o olhar quando lembra seu velho amigo Michael Jackson, de quem diz sentir muitas saudades, tanto pessoalmente quanto musicalmente, após seu falecimento em junho.
"Era muito carinhoso e muito próximo. Sinto saudades. Sua música está aí, mas me dá pena por não podermos mais seguir desfrutando dele", afirma a cantora, séria.
Toni conheceu o "rei do pop" durante um evento beneficente, já que desde que sua doença foi diagnosticada, a cantora trabalha como porta-voz da Associação Americana do Coração.
Além disso, também apoia a Associação Americana de Autismo, um trabalho com o qual a cantora pretende ensinar como lidar com a doença.
"Pulse", que começará a ser vendido no dia 22 de fevereiro, é o sexto álbum de estúdio de Toni, que começou sua carreira em 1993 com o conhecido produtor musical Babyface, com o álbum "Toni Braxton", que chegou a vender 10 milhões de cópias em todo o mundo.

"Quiero demostrar que estoy más viva que nunca", afirmó hoy en Londres la cantante en una entrevista concedida a Efe, en la que no ocultó que su regreso al circuito musical le produjo, en un primer momento, "muchos nervios, mucha tensión y una gran dosis de responsabilidad", que se disiparon a medida que fue recuperando la confianza en sí misma.

No ha sido fácil para Braxton volver a creer en sus posibilidades después de cuatro años marcados por distintos problemas de salud: la cantante padece una enfermedad en los vasos sanguíneos conocida como angina microvascular y, además, le fue diagnosticada una pericarditis.

Por si esto fuera poco, la vocalista descubrió también que su hijo mayor padecía autismo, un hecho que le llevó a plantearse abandonar para siempre su carrera musical.

Sin embargo, la intérprete, que alcanzó la fama mundial en la década de los 90 con canciones como "Un-break my heart" (1996) o "Breath Again" (1993), explica que fue un encuentro fortuito en el hospital lo que le devolvió la esperanza.

"Estando ingresada -recuerda Braxton-, conocí a una mujer de sesenta años que había sufrido cuatro infartos y que me contó, cigarro en mano, que acababa de volver de unas vacaciones con su novio de cuarenta años. Me dijo que esta enfermedad no podía pararme, que no podía ganarme la batalla, que aún era muy joven".

A partir de ahí, la cantante se puso manos a la obra para alumbrar los doce títulos que componen "Pulse", un disco con el que vuelve al R&B de sus orígenes y cuyo primer single, "Yesterday", ya se ha metido a la crítica en el bolsillo.

"Mi equipo está trabajando para hacer una versión de este tema en español", adelantó una Braxton tremendamente optimista, que anunció también que acudirá a España el próximo diciembre para dar a conocer su nuevo trabajo.

La ganadora de seis premios Grammy quiere, de este modo, volver a rendir tributo al mercado latino, como ya hizo hace trece años con "Regresa a mí", la versión en español de su gran éxito "Un-break my heart".

Totalmente renovada y con más fuerzas que nunca, Braxton tan sólo entristece la mirada cuando recuerda a su viejo amigo Michael Jackson, a quien dice echar mucho de menos, tanto a nivel personal como musical, tras su fallecimiento el pasado junio.

"Era muy cariñoso y muy cercano y le echo de menos. Su música está ahí, pero me da pena que ya no vayamos a poder seguir disfrutando más de él", asevera con gesto serio la cantante.

Braxton conoció al "rey del pop" durante una gala benéfica en la que ambos participaban. Y es que desde que le fuera diagnosticada su enfermedad, la cantante ejerce como portavoz de la Asociación Americana del Corazón.

Además, también es la cara visible de la Asociación Americana de Afectados por Autismo, una labor con la que la cantante pretende enseñar a los afectados cómo tratar esa enfermedad.

The New England Patriots beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 35-7 Sunday at the third regular season NFL game to be played overseas.
The game was played before a sell-out crowd of 84,254 at London’s Wembley Stadium which usually plays home to the soccer (or “football”) crowd. And if you think it was just an ex-pat crowd you’d be wrong.
“The vast majority of the crowd were British fans of the sport,” NFL UK publicist David Tossell told me. And the majority of them came from outside London, some even from continental Europe.
For their trouble, aside from the somewhat one-sided game, the fans got singers Toni Braxton and Katherine Jenkins in a battle of the national anthems, flags and graphics which gave the game the feel of a “home” Tampa Bay game, and the very well- received Tampa Bay Buccaneer cheer leaders.
So could there be more NFL games abroad next year? “It will take a little more groundwork to develop the fan base here,” NFL official Tossell told me. The teams don’t love the travel, and the owners miss the home game revenues.
But all spoke highly of the reception and the facilities. “It was like a Super Bowl,” New England Patriot quarterback Tom Brady is quoted as saying.

NEW YORK — THE NFL ON CBS, home of Super Bowl XLIV and broadcasting its Golden Anniversary 50th year of the NFL, continues its 2009 NFL season on Sunday, Oct. 25 (1-7 p.m., ET) beginning with THE NFL TODAY (Noon-1 p.m., ET).

THE NFL TODAY’s host James Brown conducts an interview with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who will be in London for the New England Patriots-Tampa Bay Buccaneers game, to talk about the NFL’s international plans, as well as other issues.

In addition to THE NFL ON CBS’s coverage from London, both countries’ national anthems will be aired. The Star Spangled Banner will be performed by Grammy Award-winning recording artist Toni Braxton, and God Save the Queen by award-winning British mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins.

As we mentioned earlier, Toni Braxton was set to star in a children's musical which according to IMDB is titled "Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure."

The Big Balloon Adventure is directed by Matthew Diamond (Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, That's So Raven) and stars iconic comedian, actress, author and dancer, Cloris Leachman as the highly energetic grandmother, Dotty Rounder, who lives in her Treepot high atop the highest tree in all of Fun Forest.

Toni Braxton plays the role of Rosalie Rosebud and showcases her Grammy winning chops in the film. Both Braxton and Leachman appeared on season 7 of ABC's Dancing with the Stars. The film is set to release sometime in 2010.

Toni Braxton Snowflakes Christmas Music CD Review

Toni Braxton has released her latest CD entitled Snowflakes.

Snowflakes begins with an excellent track, Celebrate Holiday, I will be heard on radio stations everywhere to anticipate and rightly so. It is a really nice track.
One of the refreshingly nice things about this CD is the way all the participating artists seem to really have fun. Combined with the overall presentation and you have one of the most impressive publications Toni Braxton's gotever.
Total Snowflakes has produced a solid production. Maybe Toni Braxton's best to date. Really spectacular from beginning to end. If you even remotely Christmas, there is now enjoying this CD.
While the entire CD is really very good some of my favorites are track 3 - Snowflakes Of Love, track 7 - Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, and track 11 - Christmas In Jamaica
My Bonus Pick, and those who Sore [... how, in 'Stuck On Repeat "] is track 1 - Holiday celebrations.Good stuff!
